November is Diabetes Awareness Month!
World Diabetes Day is celebrated worldwide on November 14th to raise awareness on both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
In celebration, Better Care took the opportunity to educate the community by going around to different Philadelphia Senior Centers to present on the types, symptoms, treatment/care of diabetes.
Our first stop was at the Mann Older Adult Community Center- where we had the pleasure to talk to a wonderful group of individuals. Through conversation, sharing or experiences, and games, we were able to reinforce the message that although a serious disease-diabetes is a manageable condition.
With the proper lifestyle changes and support, one can live a happy and healthy life with diabetes!
